David Lynch : Full SpeedvideoSo, I did about 7 livestream sessions while drawing the David Lynch Portrait.
A slimy, but great Frog, once said, it would be a good idea to combine them into one big.
Here is the result.  18 hours of video, rendered into 17 minutes.  Some parts look bad though... there is also a 1 minute freeze, no idea how & when this happened.
In a time where fake drawings & artists are a hot topic, it's maybe a nice thing to see how real drawings are created :D
Enjoy!!

Read here, the horror of Fixation going wrong
Fixation Troubles ResolvedSo, I wanted to fixate my David Lynch drawing.  It has a lot of B8, so I felt it was important to fixate it properly.
Still, I have no experience with it, so I applied the first layer.  It didn't look like it had any effect, so I applied a second one.
After drying I saw that some dark spots had fixate on it, other had not.... it was not looking well, so I applied another one.....
A number of layers later, my paper is all curled, it still looks no good, and I have the feeling I have ruined the drawing....
What can I do, how should u apply a proper fixate layer.... or is it just that a lot of B8 just doesn't fixate well.... HELP
Update:
Well it's clear, I ruined it, I panicked, this is the result.... I thought I read somewhere that after fixating the coating should hide the shining of the graphite, so I thought I had to apply more... :iconcryingemote:

I must begin by applauding your effort. The amount of detail in this portrait is stunning! The eyes look extremely real, to a point where this looks like it's a photograph. Plus, you captured his emotion very well.

The stark contrast between his face and the background make his features stand out fantastically, and the placement of the shadows is just perfect. I love how you rendered the wrinkles under his eyes, on his forehead, and below the cheekbones. The eyebrows are extremely intricate, as are the pores on his nose. The stubble looks very real, which is difficult to achieve and you managed it extremely well. Also, the capillaries in his eyes are so well detailed! Kudos on that!

As far as improvements are concerned, there's just one, and this is probably just me nitpicking. The hair on the darker side of his face seems slightly unrealistic. This, however, may be due to the scanner/camera, and feel free to ignore it. To me, it just seems minutely less detailed, but that's probably because of the brilliance of the rest of his face. On the other hand, it draws more attention to the face, so that's a very good thing! ;)

All in all, a fantastic piece! I hope my critiquing skills have been up to mark. Good luck with more portraits to come! :D
